New Method Records was born in the neon glow of an industrial laundry warehouse at 3623 Adeline Street. Between 1984 and 1986, this Emeryville landmark served as a punk rock epicenter, fostering a DIY defiance that still drives our operations today. We believe in the tactile power of physical media and art created outside the mainstream gaze.
Currently anchored by the atmospheric post-punk outfit Nove Vita, our mission is dual-focused: we are unearthing archival recordings from the original warehouse era—bringing legendary acts back to the turntable—while actively scouting for new independent talent. We are a home for the outsiders, the poets, and the noisemakers.
Welcome to the New Method.
